The Deutsche Kinemathek is much more than an archive and museum. Its diverse tasks also include hosting and curating the annual Retrospective Section of the Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival. Since 2020, we have emphasised the role of the Kinemathek more prominently than before and given the section a coherent image that corresponds to the Kinemathek.

Die Deutsche Kinemathek ist weit mehr als nur ein Archiv und Museum. Zu ihren vielfältigen Aufgaben gehört auch die Ausrichtung und Kuratierung der jährlichen Retrospektive der Berlinale - Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin. Seit 2020 haben wir die Rolle der Kinemathek deutlicher als bisher hervorgehoben und der Sektion ein kohärentes, der Kinemathek entsprechendes Erscheinungsbild verliehen.
